The Cove


 

Howdy Mates,

This week has been a good one with my Alter Ego, that AV guy, taking care of a few small events. No spectacular events this week. For the first time in months I was able to attend the Space Coast Writers Guilds monthly meeting. It was nice to see the new meeting venue and how they have a great turn out even in the middle of summer. 

I have completed another run through Times Castaway - Book Two. I recently heard back from my early Beta reader that I bounce things off of and his comments was cursing me because he couldn’t put it down. He was amazed at the level of rewrite I had made from the first draft. My goal is to release this one around the first of the year. 

I have an Audiobook review of the audio version of  The Cove – The Summer Suspense Mysteries, Book 1. This book was authored by LJ Ross and narrated by Claire Corbett. Claire did a very nice job with the narration keeping the character voicings solid while keeping the dramatic influence fitting to the scene. From an Audio guy who used to record and edit this type of thing, it was very clean and good volume levels. Nicely Done!  

Now Let’s dive into the mystery! The Cove in short is about a young woman that survives a traumatic experience when someone attempts to kill her. Dealing with her internal demons after the event she relocates to a quiet little village. As she begins to relax she witnesses a murder (Or at least thinks she does) This leads her on a path of paranoid investigation where she makes some questionable moves. The breadcrumbs are scattered about nicely for a murder mystery but just when you think you have it figured out a new twist hits you. I will leave it at that! Good story that was engaging and keeps you thinking. Thank you LJ! Five Stars Across The Board!!!

I am going to work on setting up some more book signings and try and get out for more self-promotion locally for my books. Well that is about it for this week but I do want to give a nice shout out to the Antilles Trading Company in Cocoa, FL. A couple recent snip clips they have posted shows what looks like an exciting remodel of the Pirate and Maritime Museum. Looking forward to the final result.

  Hello Me Maties, This past week was spent continuing to promote the new book  Times Castaway Book One Blackbeard’s Treasure . I am pleased to say that this book has had readers/listeners every single day for over a week now. Just need to keep it going!  I have to apologize as I still have not finished the audiobook Argentia Station yet. Just didn’t get the listening time I needed. BUT!!!! The Rattler & Anniversary

  Howdy,   Well this week we will officially say goodbye to Summer. This means cooler weather is on the way. For us here in the south this is a good thing as we will return to great temps and hopefully dryer sky’s. For those in the north get that winter coat out and check your car battery for cold cranking and all the other things required to prep for winter.   Besides the end of Summer this week Monday also brings another anniversary for Deb and I. Monday the 21 st  we hit 27 years since we said, “I DO!” I will not sugar coat it as it has not always been smooth sailing and like any relationship we have hit bumps and potholes in the road but my wife is still my best friend and the love of my life. We will keep moving forward, Love you Deb! The Immortal Sword Second Screening

  Hello Me Mates, This past week saw yet another steady week with the day job and a couple friends losing family members unexpectedly. I offer my condolences to them and yet again a reminder to always make use of the time we have together and don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.  Like always for most book’s sales are down this month and this is very common as July is considered a bad month for book sales. People like us are busy enjoying outside activities and even though many are still reading, history and studies show the amount is way lower in July and August. Hey, I still have sales so I consider this a good thing.  I am continuing to work on book two of Times Castaway. As I make this run through where I clean up sentence structure and wordings I find even myself pulled in making it difficult at times as my mind begins to wander and things get added.
