OLD FRIENDS

 

Hello my friends,

This has been a busy and steady week for me with today being the first day off since last Sunday. My alter ego had a repeat group that this was the third time working with them and I have to say they are a great group and the event is certainly interesting as it revolves around the Space Program. Looking forward to next year. Speaking of the space program it was certainly interesting the end of May right before my last BLOG when the Blue Origin rocket had a failure during a test fire. Yes we heard and felt the blast here at our home. We are about twenty miles line of sight from the pad. 

I am still currently working on the next Audiobook that I am listening to, titled Argentia Station by George Wallace and Don Keith. (Two of my favorite authors) I will have it ready next week.

For those of you that are into the audiobooks like me I am working on the audio version for my latest book Times Castaway Book One Blackbeard’s Treasure that released last Tuesday. I am about halfway through and hope to have the final released this week. (I hope!) 

This week’s picture is a throwback from many years ago. You see this past week was a Heavenly birthday for a very close and dear friend of mine, Jeff LaDuke. I worked for many years as his assistant audio engineer at Stoney Creek Studios. We did many corporate projects and multiple live events including the sound for the largest Christmas Parade in Michigan, the Rochester Michigan Hometown Christmas Parade. The first couple years we ran two sound stages and Santa’s float for sound but it kept growing so the last time I worked it we had three stages Start, Middle, and Finish, along with Santa’s float all wired up and self-contained. Well enough of that Jeff and I built a great reputation and it was sad as we lost him suddenly a couple years back. In honor of his birthday I am sharing a picture of our oldest son Caden (When he was a bit younger) at the helm of Jeff big old sailboat.   

As loony tunes used to say, That’s all folks!

  Hello Me Maties, This past week was spent continuing to promote the new book  Times Castaway Book One Blackbeard’s Treasure . I am pleased to say that this book has had readers/listeners every single day for over a week now. Just need to keep it going!  I have to apologize as I still have not finished the audiobook Argentia Station yet. Just didn’t get the listening time I needed. BUT!!!! This is not to say that I don’t have a REVIEW for you! My wife Debbie and I were invited to attend the premier screening for a fan made movie  PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN – THE IMMORTAL SWORD . The setting for our viewing was in St. Augustine FL, located in the Colonial Quarter directly across from the old Spanish Fort, our screen an olde canvas style. The Rattler & Anniversary

  Howdy,   Well this week we will officially say goodbye to Summer. This means cooler weather is on the way. For us here in the south this is a good thing as we will return to great temps and hopefully dryer sky’s. For those in the north get that winter coat out and check your car battery for cold cranking and all the other things required to prep for winter.   Besides the end of Summer this week Monday also brings another anniversary for Deb and I. Monday the 21 st  we hit 27 years since we said, “I DO!” I will not sugar coat it as it has not always been smooth sailing and like any relationship we have hit bumps and potholes in the road but my wife is still my best friend and the love of my life. We will keep moving forward, Love you Deb! The Immortal Sword Second Screening

  Hello Me Mates, This past week saw yet another steady week with the day job and a couple friends losing family members unexpectedly. I offer my condolences to them and yet again a reminder to always make use of the time we have together and don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.  Like always for most book’s sales are down this month and this is very common as July is considered a bad month for book sales. People like us are busy enjoying outside activities and even though many are still reading, history and studies show the amount is way lower in July and August. Hey, I still have sales so I consider this a good thing.  I am continuing to work on book two of Times Castaway. As I make this run through where I clean up sentence structure and wordings I find even myself pulled in making it difficult at times as my mind begins to wander and things get added.
