The Legend Of Anne Bonny


 

Hello Mates,


This week was a busy one for my alter ego and the day job but it was a positive and smooth running week. Saturday was a second year in a row to run AV for a fundraising event for a local Down Syndrome event called Down For Derby. This event they all dress and enjoy a dinner based around the Kentucky Derby. Lots of Fun! 


I finally have a review for the audiobook version of The Legend Of Anne Bonny authored by Robert Q. Hoyt. This book was a virtual voice narration and the selected voice was fitting. Beware as this book is 14.5 hours long. This is why it took me a bit to complete. As you know I normally try for books under ten hours long but with my current writings this one drew my attention so I toughed it out for the longer listen. 


Alright now onto my thoughts. Quick note; as truly very little is actually known about Anne Bonny before her emergence on the pirate scene and as to what really happed after her trial. Most of what we do know is hearsay and written in some questionable stories from that era. With this disclaimer out of the way this was a good book covering Anne’s life before and after piracy. The author took his fictional creative license and created an interesting backstory that carried through to the point after the trial of Anne Bonny! We do know some history that Anne had been introduced to the world as a boy by her father as he had no son and she was, as far as we know, an illegitimate daughter he fathered with a servant. The explanation of her background that created the person she became was excellent. The Ending, (No Spoiler) though it did not really happen I did find the ending satisfying! This was a nice adventure taking you back to that old world and how brutal and yet simple it was. If you like stories of the old world and pirates I would say you will like this one. 


I continue to get “Times Castaway Book One Blackbeard’s Treasure.” Ready and still hoping for a June release! Hint: This is the best book I have ever authored so you will be in for a treat! 


The first video from  my short story “Captain Hermes Tale of A Pirate.” Has done alright on FB and TikTok and the second video was just released Saturday with more to come!

Last note this week’s picture is from Cocoa Beach of the Viasat 3 launch. It was a great launch and the sonic booms were impacting when the boosters returned. It is so cool watching a launch and then watching the boosters land back at the base.

  Hello Me Maties, This past week was spent continuing to promote the new book  Times Castaway Book One Blackbeard’s Treasure . I am pleased to say that this book has had readers/listeners every single day for over a week now. Just need to keep it going!  I have to apologize as I still have not finished the audiobook Argentia Station yet. Just didn’t get the listening time I needed. BUT!!!! The Rattler & Anniversary

  Howdy,   Well this week we will officially say goodbye to Summer. This means cooler weather is on the way. For us here in the south this is a good thing as we will return to great temps and hopefully dryer sky’s. For those in the north get that winter coat out and check your car battery for cold cranking and all the other things required to prep for winter.   Besides the end of Summer this week Monday also brings another anniversary for Deb and I. Monday the 21 st  we hit 27 years since we said, “I DO!” I will not sugar coat it as it has not always been smooth sailing and like any relationship we have hit bumps and potholes in the road but my wife is still my best friend and the love of my life. We will keep moving forward, Love you Deb! The Immortal Sword Second Screening

  Hello Me Mates, This past week saw yet another steady week with the day job and a couple friends losing family members unexpectedly. I offer my condolences to them and yet again a reminder to always make use of the time we have together and don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.  Like always for most book’s sales are down this month and this is very common as July is considered a bad month for book sales. People like us are busy enjoying outside activities and even though many are still reading, history and studies show the amount is way lower in July and August. Hey, I still have sales so I consider this a good thing.  I am continuing to work on book two of Times Castaway. As I make this run through where I clean up sentence structure and wordings I find even myself pulled in making it difficult at times as my mind begins to wander and things get added.
